Newman Catholic Collegiate

The Newman Catholic Collegiate is a partnership of nine Catholic academies in North Staffordshire, part of the Archdiocese of Birmingham, under the patronage of Saint John Henry Newman.

Our priority is to help students to know Jesus Christ, his mission and his Gospel, which forms our way of living.

We commit to work together so that each academy, respecting its own unique character, will offer an outstanding Catholic education.

Our shared vision of life respects the uniqueness of all students, supporting their families, engaging them in their communities, and offering them unconditional love, so that they may achieve their potential and live life in its fullness.

To achieve this, across our academies, we will know one another, offering each other encouragement and active support.

Our vision for the Collegiate is summed up in the words

GROWING TOGETHER FOR LIFE

"By faith only do we know our position in the world, our circumstances, our rights and privileges, our fortunes, our parents, our brothers and sisters, our age, our mortality” John Henry Newman

We have an exceptionally strong tradition of working with our seven partner primary schools and St. Margaret Ward Catholic Academy. Working together for the sake of all our students, we share the same high standards of education based on the founding principles of compassion and respect.

In 2013, our family of schools formalised its successful relationships by joining together to form the Newman Catholic Collegiate.

Together with St Joseph's Catholic Academy, the Newman Catholic Collegiate includes:
•St John the Evangelist Catholic Academy, Kidsgrove
•St Peter's Catholic Academy, Cobridge
•Our Lady of Grace Catholic Academy, Biddulph
•St Wilfrid’s Catholic Academy, Tunstall
•St George & St Martin Catholic Academy, Birches Head
•St Mary’s Catholic Academy, Norton
•Our Lady & St Benedict Catholic Academy, Abbey Hulton
•St Margaret Ward Catholic Academy, Tunstall

St Joseph's takes every opportunity to work with the children and staff in our Collegiate schools as we recognise the importance of providing a continuum of Catholic education from a child’s early years, all the way through to post-16 education.
