Our Saints
Our Patron Saint
The patron saint of our school is Saint Joseph. Saint Joseph is the husband of Mary, mother of Jesus and the earthly father of Jesus. Joseph is sometimes called the foster father of Jesus. In the bible, there are no spoken words of Joseph. The bible tells us that Joseph took excellent care of his family, even during difficult times and that we worked very hard in his job as a carpenter. Joseph trusted in God when he heard that God wanted him to marry Mary and bring up the son Jesus. Joseph is a wonderful example to us all of the quiet, kind, care for others which we can show and of the importance of working hard. We celebrate the feast of St Joseph in March anodals in May with Mass, celebration of the word in school and celebrations with our parish community.
Our house saints
All of our children are a member of a house team and know the lives and example of their house saint. St Andrew, St David, St George and St Patrick are an example to us all.
Our class saints
Each class learns more about the life and example of a saint to help them to live a more saintly life. Our class saints link to our Catholic Social Teaching principles too. Children learn about their class saint throughout the year but especially near their feast day when children plan and lead a time of prayer for their class with their families and also for the rest of their Key Stage. This is a lovely celebration for families to join in and we are grateful to our families for their attendance.
